Maddelyn Rose was purchased by Bill and Rose Herriman in June 2012 from a deceased estate and brokered by Virginia Yachts based in Chesapeake, Norfolk VA.
Virginia Yachts is owned by Chuck and Kelsey Grice who made the purchase an easy, no hassle and relaxed process.
Bill is a semi retired boat builder from New Zealand with over 40 years of experience in building all types of vessels from high speed fun boats to super yachts, owned his own boat building company, including managing an island resort and shipping line in Fiji for 6 years, spent 5 years in Thailand converting a 60 meter ex British Naval vessel into a super yacht, has built 3 yachts for himself and sailed extensively around the south pacific, he now specializes in project management when he feels like it.
Rose is from the Philippines where she met Bill in 2006 while he was delivering a 35 meter high speed passenger cat from Cebu to Fiji, Although Rose has never had anything to do with boating or the sea she has taken to Bills adventurous ways like a duck to water.
Bill and Rose were married in 2011 in Bangkok, Thailand while both of them were managing the conversion of a ex naval vessel into a super yacht.
These are the voyages of the Maddelyn Rose a Defever 60 trawler style motor vessel, previously named Turnaround, Pokey Too and Marjorie Grace. The name Maddelyn Rose comes from Bills grand daughter Maddeliene ( Madde ) and Rocelyn ( Rose ).
Bill and Rose plan to drive Maddelyn Roseon her own bottom from Norfolk VA, USA to New Zealand via the intercoastal water way to Florida, Panama, up the west coast to SanFrancisco, across to Hawaii, then through the pacific islands and finally to New Zealand.
